About MITA Bot

MITA Bot was wrote in AIML and is hosted on pandorabots. It started off with nothing but a white background and a text box for people to talk to it. Then I created a group on MSN which can be found at http://groups.msn.com/MITAchatterbot, please have a look. After that I quickly designed a simple background with some links so that there wasn't a blank page any more. I then promoted MITA in the forums on a NZ site called smilecity, that gained some new testers who had a chat and I then trained MITA more and more as people talked. This was easy because a conversations are recorded on a chat log. 

I switched all of my time to the MSN group after that because everything was so easy to set up. Not much happened for awhile since my friend Bob was the only member, he created a bot aswell and linked it to my site. I then wanted to create another chatterbot that was more human than MITA so I put a survey on the net which you can find the link on the "Help Us" page. I only had two people do it and one of them was Bob who also made his own survey.

I had decided the problem was that MITA wasn't interesting enough for people to keep talking to it because every answer was the same for every question. So I have rewritten it with more that one possible answer for every question and soon I will put it up on the internet but I always need more testers.

Now I have created this site after hours at the screen (all the webmasters out there will be saying that a site like this will take ten minutes and that is probably true but FrontPage is not my favorite web editor so it took me a bit of time trying out different themes).

That is a very short history of MITA Bot and when I have more time I will tell you more about it, until next time!
